The Sandtown Digital Inclusion Council (SDIC) will create a community-driven digital inclusion plan that will address the digital inequities experienced by residents within the Sandtown community. The SDIC plays a crucial role in addressing and mitigating the digital divide, which refers to the gap between those who have access to modern information and communication technology and those who do not. Digital inclusion is not just about individual access; it’s also about community development. Our SDIC can work with local communities to develop digital infrastructure, provide training programs, and create a supportive environment for the adoption of digital technologies.  Being digitally connected enables individuals to participate in social and civic activities. Digital platforms provide a means for people to connect, express their opinions, and engage in civic processes. Our SDIC will facilitate the participation of disadvantaged communities in these online spaces.
